Ryaad is a Partner at EY Mauritius and leads both the Tax Advisory and Tax Compliance services since 2002. He has more than 20 years experiences in taxation matters within all business spheres.
In 1994, Ryaad was appointed as Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Account and in 1996, he was appointed Chartered Tax Advisor by the Chartered Institute of Taxation in the United Kingdom.
Ryaad has advised clients on both national and international tax strategies and this includes the application of double taxation treaties together with their interaction with the national tax laws.
His experience cuts across various sectors and includes banking, financial services, textile and manufacturing, hotel, construction, insurance, transport, telecommunications and several global businesses.
Ryaad has advised on several major international group tax restructuring exercises
Ryaad has appeared as an independent tax expert at the UK First Tier Tribunal. Ryaad advised a leading trading company on a VAT case and successfully resolved the case before the start of the hearing at the level of the Privy Council.
Ryaad has worked on a number of significant transactions where his advice included the fiscal implications from the perspective of the Land (Duties and Taxes) Act and the Registration Duty Act.
Currently, Ryaad advises on a number of high net worth individuals on their personal tax affairs. His work considers the interaction of foreign tax laws with the domestic tax laws of Mauritius.
