Global business: Get off the blacklist by the end of 2020
The government is working “very hard” to get Mauritius off the European Union’s blacklist. Last Thursday, a videoconference brought together the French authorities and the Mauritian technical teams with a view to making every effort to ensure that Mauritius is finally “fully compliant” .
Locally, meetings were held with representatives of the European diplomatic corps. In addition, experts are expected to help the country address its “deficiencies” . The latter are expected in the country next month.
The ” Site visits” are also planned and the government wants to present a report as soon as possible. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they say they want to ensure that there are no “extra top-up criteria”. Anyway, the goal is to get out of the blacklist “by the end of 2020”.
