UNODC, PM discuss Fin-Tech platform

UNODC representative meets Prime Minister Jugnauth.

The UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Representative for Eastern Africa to Mauritius, Dr. Amado Philip de Andres held a meeting with PM Mr. Pravind Jugnauth where issues such as the creation of FinTech platform to support financial institutions were on the agenda. Dr. Amado Philip de Andres emphasised on the role of Fin-Tech to help create a sound financial ecosystem to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals while enabling the private sector to finance weaknesses in the country as part of efforts combating human trafficking issues. Deputy CEO at EDB Mr. Ken Poonoosamy and FSC’s Chief Executive Mr. Harvesh Seegoolam were also present during the meeting.
